Try Hoppy at 1000 bero izakaya

4/04/2016

Have you ever heard Japanese word “1000 (sen) bero”(千ベロ)?

It briefly means getting drunk with 1000 yen. If I say, 1000 bero izakaya, means very cheap izakaya! (Izakaya is Japanese style bar) Many of those 1000 bero izakaya have standing bar styles. Standing bar stayles are good to avoid getting too much drunk. I recommend to select 1000 bero izakaya that has no comfortable seats : )

One of the fun alcoholic beverage is Hoppy set. I often see (&drink) Hoppy set at 1000-bero izakaya. Hoppy set is served with a bottle of Hoppy and a glass of shochu( Japanese alcoholic beverage). Hoppy itself is no alcoholic. You add Hoppy to the glass of shochu, enjoy making your favorite taste, and drink!

If you finish the glass but still have Hoppy in your bottle, order another “Naka.” Then another glass of shochu is served. You add rest of Hoppy to it and finish up the bottle of Hoppy.

Order Hoppy set, and then "Naka" for a second glass!
